Genuine (Bait Category)
The Ragebait Lens category for honestly-titled content with no engineered hook — a title that says what the video is, no more and no less. It is kept in the taxonomy even though it is almost always near-empty, and that emptiness is the entire point of the tool.
Genuine is the category that proves the rest. A title lands here only if it makes no effort to manipulate — it describes the thing plainly, declines the curiosity gap, refuses the superlative, doesn't manufacture a clock. It is the control group sitting inside the experiment.
And it is almost always nearly empty. Watching it hold at two, three, four percent while Conflict, Wealth, and FOMO split the rest is, deliberately, the punchline of the whole tool. Nobody removed honesty from the feed. The system simply doesn't reward it — an honestly-titled video stays invisible unless someone goes looking for it on purpose, because it has no hook to carry it into recommendation.
I kept this category specifically because deleting it would hide the finding. If the Lens only showed you which manipulation each title used, you'd learn the techniques but miss the ratio. The ratio is the argument: the machinery isn't anti-truth, it's pro-hook, and those are not the same thing.
So the practice the category invites is a quiet one. When you find a genuine title — and you will, occasionally — notice how it got to you. Almost always it's because you searched for it, or a person you trust sent it. Not the feed. The feed had no reason to.
